Meet The Team - Clare Grocott

Clare is committed to her lifelong learning and continually seeks to improve her skills and knowledge. She is an active contributor to the local Neurological Therapy Interest network, she participates in the Critical Appraisal Topic group based at Keele University and is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN). Clare attended the International Physical and Medical Rehabilitation Conference 2009 in Istanbul and was responsible for giving a presentation on Evidence Based Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation to the entire Rehabilitation team on her return.

Clare Grocott
Neurological Physiotherapist

Clare is always interested in increasing the range of treatment modalities she can offer to clients; she completed the foundation course in Acupuncture in January 2010 which enables her to relieve clients' pain effectively. She has a special interest in aquatic exercise for people with neurological problems having completed the foundation course in Hydrotherapy in 2008. Fully Saebo trained, Clare will complete her Bobath training in January 2011 to further improve her assessment and treatment skills of patients with neurological conditions. Clare joined the Neuro Matters team in May 2010 and thoroughly enjoys her role in the company.

Clare qualified from Keele University in 2000 with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy. She worked as a junior physiotherapist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) and soon decided to specialise in neurological rehabilitation. She spent six years working on the Neurology, Neurosurgery and Acute Stroke Rehabilitation wards at UHNS. Clare now specialises in longer term neurological rehabilitation and has extensive experience of treating people with a variety of neurological conditions.
